Description

Trans*Code @ EuroPython

The Trans*Code event at EuroPython will take place on Tuesday 12 July, 2022.

Trans*Code is open to trans and non-binary folk, allies, coders, designers and visionaries of all sorts,

Trans*Code events aim to help draw attention to transgender issues through informal, topic-focused hackdays. Trans*Code started in London, inspired by the groundbreaking Trans*H4CK events in the USA created by Dr. Kortney Ziegler. Since the first event in 2015 there have been more than a dozen Trans*Code events in 3 countries, which have spread awareness, built community, and helped form friendships.

Coders, designers, activists, and community members not currently working in technology are all encouraged to participate. Trans*Code participants from all backgrounds come together to spend a day working together to create prototypes around the themes of transgender issues and access to technology.

If you have an idea, or want to work with others to learn about and improve the situation of the trans and non-binary communities through technology, please join us.

The speaker

Naomi Ceder

Founder of Trans*Code. An elected fellow of the Python Software Foundation, Naomi is a past chair of its board of directors. She also speaks internationally about the Python community, and on inclusion and diversity in technology in general.
